Back to writing.

Start with the setup guide. These checks resolve the most common interruptions.

Sign-in did not finish

Open Cadence and choose Sign in again. Keep the browser window open until it returns you to the app. For email sign-in, check the inbox and spam folder for the newest verification code. To recover access, use the same Google account or email address you used before.

If sign-in is unavailable, check your connection and try again later. A temporary service outage does not require a new account. Never share verification codes with support.

Cadence cannot hear me

Check the selected microphone in Settings, reconnect it if needed, and run the microphone test. In macOS System Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone, allow Cadence. The microphone test stays on your Mac.

Text did not appear

Make sure the field is editable and Cadence has Accessibility permission in System Settings → Privacy & Security. Some apps handle selection and paste differently. If Cadence offers recovered text, copy it and paste it yourself.

Keep the original app and selection available during a rewrite. Password fields and blocked apps are excluded. Use the writing app’s Undo command if you want to undo an accepted edit.

A shortcut does not respond

Check Settings → Shortcuts for conflicts and Settings → Permissions for missing access. Try a different shortcut if another app already uses it.

I reached a limit

Open your account in Cadence to see usage and its reset time. Free allowances reset on Monday at 00:00 UTC. Chat, Annotate and Translate share their own weekly limit (20 on Free, 1,000 on Pro), which resets at the same time; dictation and Refine keep working when it runs out. Longer writing requests can exhaust writing capacity before the request count. Repeated retries do not raise the limit, and failed processing attempts can count toward usage.

Updates and removal

Download an update from the Mac download, quit Cadence, and replace the copy in Applications. Your preferences stay on your Mac. This version does not install updates automatically. On Windows, run the new Cadence.exe installer; see the Windows setup guide.

To remove Cadence, sign out, turn off launch at login, quit it, and move it to the Trash. Removing the app does not erase preferences or cancel a subscription. Use Manage billing to cancel.

Still stuck?

Send a support report with your Cadence and macOS versions and the app you were writing in. Leave out passwords, sign-in codes, recordings and private text.
